Don Dunoon has been engaged by the Department of Treasury and Finance to assist the Department to respond to its 2001 Staff Climate Survey.

Don conducted a series of focus groups, involving most of the Department's employees, to identify the issues behind the survey results and to formulate recommendations for areas of change. Don's comprehensive report has guided the Department through a process of change over the last two years.

Following on from the production of the report, Don was engaged by the Department to conduct leadership development programs for the Executive team and Branch Heads and is currently directing a similar program for other senior managers. As well as developing the leadership and communication skills of these groups, the program has been used to progress other areas of change, including significant work on the Department's communication processes, values and measures to enhance the involvement, motivation and development of our staff.

Don's strength is his ability to engage and relate to people at all levels. This rapport enabled him to raise to the surface a number of issues that hadn't been tackled previously. Rather than taking a prescriptive approach, he has encouraged us all to reflect on our style and approach to one another and to identify potential changes and improvements ourselves.
